GOTS: The label indicates that the textile fibers come from organic farming. No harmful or carcinogenic substances may be used in the production of the clothing. In addition, GOTS imposes the obligation to draw up a sustainability plan with a focus on water and energy consumption and waste management. For example, it takes into account the maximum emission standards for water when producing the textile. There are binding criteria for water purification. The final product must not contain any residues of pesticides or heavy metals such as lead or cadmium. The label looks at the working conditions within textile processing.
